Six faculty named Summer Research Scholars

Six faculty members at University of Wisconsin-Stout have been named Summer Research Scholars. Each will receive partial summer contracts.

Faculty and their research projects are:

Kerber, Patterson and Tiala will research digital technologies in the Discovery Center Fab Lab to develop competencies in creating low-cost science instrumentation.

Randy Hulke, director of the Fab Lab, is overseeing the program. “Faculty members, working in a collaborative environment, have the potential to create meaningful products and advance higher-level research proposals to arrive at practical solutions for real-world issues,” Hulke said.

In the fall, the group will meet to share their results.

The Fab Lab at UW-Stout is part of the Discovery Center, a cross-disciplinary umbrella organization that advances the university’s mission through collaboration with business and industry.
