Learning and Information Technology (LIT) is a support organization dedicated to providing efficient and effective state-of-the-art learning and information technology solutions and services to students, faculty, and staff for instruction, administration, and public service in support of the University's mission.
Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) provides administrative data and enterprise resource planning (ERP) services, including PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions) student information system application development, support and maintenance; data warehouse and reporting development; campus website technical support and operation, support and administration of servers for the UW-Stout community.
Learning Technology Services (LTS) is an instructional technology center focusing on teaching and learning for instructors of the UW-Stout teaching community. Offering a range of services, LTS partners with faculty to provide expertise, training and support to assist instructors with incorporating instructional technology into their teaching practice and creating technology-enhanced instructional materials.
The Telecommunications and Networking (T&N) department serves UW-Stout's
academic community by providing support for campus computers,
applications and services. ASK5000 Technology HelpDesk is
a service of T&N that provides phone and walk-up support to
faculty, staff and students. Other services include e-mail, network
infrastructure and telephone service as well as a host of server-based
The Advisory council meets quarterly to provide insights, perspectives and a mechanism for open exchange and guidance to assist Learning and Information Technology to strengthen programs and services, review strategic initiatives, improved responsiveness to instructional needs, improve communications and interaction with campus related to emerging instructional technologies.
The EITA Council will:
Council meetings once per quarter with potential of additional sub-committee meetings as needed. Two year terms.

STAR employees are required to attend a week-long training program at the beginning of each year. Additional departmental classes are given to strengthen both the technical and the professional sides of the employment environment.
Student Technological Assistance and Resources (STAR) is a students-managed organization that's focus is to provide students with a solid background in technical skills and customer service, benefiting them and prospective employers. Our employees are responsible for delivering technology services to the campus community in a wide variety of functional area in the following areas: ASK5000 Technology Help Desk, PC & Printer Repair, Telecommunication, General Access Computer Lab, and Departmental Computer Labs.
STAR employs about 100 students from a variety of academic majors at UW-Stout. Equal opportunity is extended to all students who apply regardless of academic major. STAR is not limited to being staffed by students; STAR is entirely managed by students of UW-Stout.
STAR employees learn many useful skills throughout their employment. These include: Management skills in leadership, customer service, communication, recruiting, evaluation, strategic planning, projects, teamwork, and negotiation.
