Picturesque View
Looking south, the fifth floor provides a spectacular view of Jarvis Hall - Science and Technology (left), the Memorial Student Center (middle), and the McCalmont Education and Human Services Building (right).
Quiet Study Floor
This is a quiet study floor. Please turn off all mobile phones and electronic devices.
Public Equipment Area
Here you will find a copy machine and a variety of AV equipment to use with the AV materials shelved in the collection. Public Equipment Areas are located in the same places on floors 3-5 of the library.
In addition to several unique pieces of audiovisual equipment, each floor in the library has scissors, staplers, video tape and DVD players, projectors, slide machines, CD and audio tape players, as well as computer stations with Web access and Microsoft Office Suite.
General Collection
The Library of Congress classification system is used to organize our materials. A classification system outline is by the Help Phones.
You would usually start by finding a specific item and its call number in the Stout Library Catalog. The call numbers begin with A on the fifth floor and end on the third floor with Z. There are signs at the ends of the stacks indicating the call numbers shelved there.
