Exhibit Information

Library Exhibit Space

The University Library lobby is available for exhibits. Faculty, staff, and student organizations are encouraged to use the exhibit area to promote projects, special events, and other campus activities.

Scheduling an Exhibit

To display your exhibit, contact the Administrative Office, Room 220, in the University Library (715/232-3788). You must contact the Library at least two full weeks before the desired exhibit date.

Information Needed Regarding Exhibit

  • Describe the exhibit
  • Give desired dates of the exhibit
  • Discuss dates of setup and take down
  • Designate display equipment needed
  • Determine required floor space. Take into account that the walkways to Reference go through the exhibit area and cannot be blocked due to fire code regulations and need for clear aisles for persons with disabilities.

After the Administrative Office is contacted, a letter will be sent to confirm a reservation of the Exhibit Area. The "Art Exhibit Protection Memorandum" and "Art Inventory Forms" will also be attached. The insurance forms protect you in case something happens to your exhibit.

Please read, sign, date, and return the insurance forms to the Administrative Office five days before the beginning of the exhibit.

Then, contact Amy Styer (715/232-3788) one week before the scheduled exhibit to arrange a time to setup and take down the exhibit.

Display Equipment Available for Use

The Administrative Office staff will show exhibitors where the display equipment is kept. It is appreciated if personal display equipment is used, but University Library equipment is available for use.

Since more than one exhibit may be displayed at a time, some of the equipment may be in use. Exhibitors are responsible for providing signage and all supplies needed to mount the exhibit.

The University Library has the following equipment available for use:

  • 2 Horizontal cases
  • 1 Vertical case
  • 1 Bookshelf
  • 2 Wooden easels
  • 3 Metal tripods
  • Display panels
  • 4 Shelves with velcro backing

Please note: the tackable wall on the south side can accommodate only tacks, pins, or velcro. No nails or screws please!

Please Protect the Building

  • No nails or screws can be used.
  • There can be no alterations to any fixed parts of the building.
  • To use paste or other adhesives, obtain permission from the Administrative Office.
