Adding a Printer to Stout Laptop

  1. Verify that the laptop is connected to the StoutSecure network
  2. Click on the 'Start' button and type \\libprint in the search box
        • Win7 Start and Search
        • Win8 Start                         Win8 Search
  3. You may be prompted for username and password. Enter username@uwstout.edu (NOT username@MY.uwstout.edu) and check the box to remember password.
  4. This will open a connection to the libprint server where you can select printers
  5. Double-click the printer that you wish to add, then WAIT!!! It may take more than a minute before you get any indication that the driver is installing
  6. When the driver is installed, the printer queue will open

  1. Verify that the laptop is connected to the StoutSecure network
  2. Open 'System Preferences'
  3. Open 'Print & Scan'
  4. Make sure the gold padlock symbol is Unlocked (lower left corner)
  5. Click '+' on the bottom left to add a new printer
  6. Select the 'IP' icon from the top of the 'Add' window
  7. Fill in the following information:
    • Protocol: Line Printer Daemon (LPD)
    • Address: itcqueue.uwstout.edu
    • Queue: (enter one from below)
      • LLC_102_Color_1
      • LLC_102_BW_1
      • LLC_102_BW_2
    • Give the printer a friendly name (e.g. libprintcolor, libprintBW1)
    • Location: library
  8. Use the 'Generic PCL Printer' driver
  9. When you click the 'Add' button, put a check in the 'Duplex' box

  1. Wiggle the mouse to refresh the screen if it has gone to sleep
  2. Tap the screen (or click with the mouse) to select your name
  3. Tap the screen (or click with the mouse) to select the job
  4. Tap or click 'continue' in the bottom right corner of the screen
  5. Swipe your UWStout card now
  6. Click 'Pay and Print' button at the bottom right
  7. 'Sign out' at the top, click 'Back' at the bottom, or you will be logged out automatically after 20 seconds
