The African American Biographical Database is a resource for biographical information, including photographs and illustrations, for African Americans. From the famous to the everyday person, AABD includes profiles and full-text sketches providing both biographical detail and illuminating narratives chronicling the lives of Black Americans.

African American Music Reference

African American Music Reference will bring together 50,000 pages of text reference, biographies, chronologies, sheet music, images, lyrics, liner notes, and discographies which chronicle the diverse history and culture of the African American experience through music. The database includes comprehensive coverage of blues, jazz, spirituals, civil rights songs, slave songs, minstrelsy, rhythm and blues, gospel, and other forms of black American musical expression.

Agricola (in FirstSearch)

Agricola covers subjects relating to all aspects of agriculture, forestry, and animal science. It is produced on a monthly basis by the National Agricultural Library of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The database describes materials acquired by the National Agriculture Library and cooperating institutions. It indexes books, serials, audiovisual and other materials. Agricola

AGRICOLA (AGRICultural OnLine Access) is a bibliographic database of citations to the agricultural literature created by the National Agricultural Library (NAL) and its cooperators. The records describe publications and resources encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, agricultural economics, extension and education, food and human nutrition, and earth and environmental sciences. Although the AGRICOLA database does not contain the materials, thousands of AGRICOLA records are linked to full-text documents online, with new links added daily.

Alt-HealthWatch focuses on the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated approaches to health care and wellness. America: History and Life is a complete bibliographic reference to the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. Published since 1964, the database comprises almost 400,000 bibliographic entries, providing an incomparable research tool for US and Canadian history. This extensive database covers over 2,000 journals published worldwide. In addition to covering all key English-language historical journals, America: History and Life coverage includes selected historical journals from major countries, state and local history journals, and a targeted selection of hundreds of journals in the social sciences and humanities. BadgerLink is a program supported and funded through the Department of Public Instruction — Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community Learning. BioOne provides integrated, access to a thoroughly linked information resource of interrelated journals focused on the biological, ecological and environmental sciences. Currently over 40,000 full text articles are available from 40 peer-reviewed journals. Coverage is from 2000 to the present. Black Drama

When complete, Black Drama will contain the full text of 1,200 plays written from the mid-1800s to the present by more than 100 playwrights from North America, English-speaking Africa, the Caribbean, and other African diaspora countries. Many of the works are rare, hard-to-find, or out of print. Nearly a quarter of the collection will consist of previously unpublished plays by writers such as Langston Hughes, Ed Bullins, Willis Richardson, Femi Euba, Amiri Baraka, Randolph Edmonds, Zora Neale Hurston, and many others.

British and Irish Women's Letters and Diaries

When complete the collection will include approximately 100,000 pages of published letters and diaries from individuals writing from the 1500 to 1900, plus several thousand pages of previously unpublished materials. Drawn from more than 1,000 sources, including journal articles, pamphlets, newsletters, monographs, and conference proceedings, much of the material is in copyright. Choice Reviews Online

ChoiceReviews.online provides Web access to the entire database of CHOICE reviews published since September 1988. The database is updated monthly, generally at mid-month, with reviews that will be printed in the next monthly issue of CHOICE. The newest reviews appear, arranged by academic discipline and broad cross-disciplinary topic, in the Current Issue. Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI) (in CSA)

DAAI is an international index containing over 100,000 annotated references from more than 450 design and craft journals published from 1973 to the present. Between 10,000-12,000 records are added annually. The library subscribes to a limited number of periodical titles indexed in the database.

Directory of Open Access Journals

Eighteenth Century Collections Online, is a comprehensive digital edition of The Eighteenth Century, the world's largest library of the printed book on microfilm, available through its imprint Primary Source Microfilm™. Engineering Village 2 (Compendex)

Engineering Village 2 (Compendex) is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research literature, containing references to over 5000 engineering journals and conferences. It covers literature that makes a definite contribution to knowledge in the subject areas of engineering and applied science. About half the citations (from 2600 journals and conferences) include abstracts and indexing in the records. Online coverage is from 1970 to the present, and files are updated weekly. The highest percentages of journal literature are in the fields of chemical and process engineering (15%), computers and data processing (12%), applied physics (11%), and electronics and communication (12%). The Kraus Curriculum Development Library (kcdl) is a searchable database that provides curriculum information on a variety of subjects covered in PreK-12 and Adult Basic Education. With a growing database of nearly 4500 curriculum documents, kcdl provides a direct link to the curricula needed and contact information on the agencies that issue the curricula. Twenty editions (1983-2001) have been cumulated into this database. Full text is available only for the curriculum guides in the 20th edition. North American Women's Letters and Diaries

When complete, North American Women's Letters and Diaries will be the largest collection of women's diaries and correspondence ever assembled.The collection will include approximately 150,000 pages of published letters and diaries from individuals writing from Colonial times to 1950, plus 4,000 pages of previously unpublished materials. Drawn from more than 1,000 sources, including journal articles, pamphlets, newsletters, monographs, and conference proceedings, much of the material is in copyright. Nutrition Abstracts and Reviews is a fully searchable abstract database covering the latest information on all issues related to food and health from food composition and safety to obesity, parenteral nutrition and allergies. Taken from CAB Abstracts it includes all papers relevant to human nutrition selected from more than 1000 academic journals (including all the core ones), books, reports and conferences published worldwide. The database is updated weekly online, delivering, on average, 250-300 searchable summaries covering key English and non-English language publications, reports, conferences and books. O*Net(WWW)

The O*NET database includes information on skills, abilities, knowledge, work activities, and interests associated with occupations. This information can be used to facilitate career exploration, vocational counseling, and a variety of human resources functions, such as developing job orders and position descriptions and aligning training with current workplace needs. Information in O*NET is available for over 950 occupations. Each occupational title and code is based on the most current version (1999) of the Standard Occupational Classification system. OED (Oxford English Dictionary)

The Oxford English Dictionary traces the development of English from approximately 1150 AD up to the present day. The varieties of English covered include British English, American English, Australian English, New Zealand English, the English of the Indian subcontinent, Southern Africa, and the Caribbean. The Oxford English dictionary search software allows the user to locate a specific word; browse the text; formulate complex searches using Boolean operators; limit searches by date, part of speech, or section of the entry; follow up cross-references; save search results to a file; or paste sections of the OED2 into a text file. The cornerstone of Oxford Music Online, Grove Music Online, has been completely redesigned with a number of functional enhancements and new content. Readers' Guide Full Text, produced by The H. W. Wilson Company, is a database containing comprehensive indexing and abstracting of the most popular general-interest periodicals published in the United States and Canada, plus the full text of selected periodicals. The abstracts average 125 words in length. Two types of abstracts are included. Informative abstracts convey the content, scope, and complexity of the source article, and are the predominant form used. Indicative abstracts describe the subject of the source article and are reserved for how-to articles, humorous essays, personal accounts, and recipes.
