*** Please note that before you can use the public network connections in the library you must register your computer.

In the Library, there are two ways that students can connect a laptop to the network:

Wireless Connections

The library has wireless connectivity throughout the public areas of the library. If you have a wireless card in your computer you should be able to use it in the library.

In addition to wireless connectivity the library has provided a number of active public networked connection for use by Stout Students and Staff. These are Ethernet connections. They are NOT telephone lines and cannot be used with modems or telephones. Additional information regarding the location of these ports is provided below.

Public Ethernet Connections

The location of the public Ethernet connections are identified by a sign reading PUBLIC ETHERNET CONNECTIONS. The active Ethernet connections are identified by an orange label "ACTIVE LAPTOP PLUG IN" and are at the following locations:
