Program Description
Participants will have the chance to spend two weeks in local schools or public agencies in and around Edinburgh, Scotland and Cork, Ireland that relate to their field of study at UW-Stout. These experiences will afford the students the opportunity to interact, observe, and understand the similarities and differences of these professions in the US and Great Britain.
Edinburgh, Scotland and Cork, Ireland
The first two weeks of the trip will be spent in Edinburgh while just living twenty minutes outside of the city at Dalkeith Palace. The palace plays host to the Wisconsin in Scotland study abroad program during the regular school year. The manor home was built in 1711 and is owned
by the 9th Duke of Buccleuch. The final week of the trip will be in the charming Irish coastal
city of Cork. Due to the influence of the warm Gulf Stream waters, this region of Ireland
produces lush vegetation, palm trees and semi-tropical flowers.
