Primary Identifier for Printed Materials

A primary identifier has been created to serve as a unifying visual device to tie all UW-Stout print communications together. See examples at right. This identifier consists of the following elements:

  • A one-color logo presented in a shield
  • An adjacent rectangle positioned to the right of or below the shield
  • Unit or department information
Note: the shield and secondary identification area must be two different colors.

Primary Identifier for print materials

Limitations

The shield may be one of four colors (see larger image of primary identifier):

  • PMS 280
  • White
  • 50% black
  • black

For each shield color, a complementary selection of colors is available for the rectangle. As a result, units are able to create a consistent look for themselves within the standard look for the university, if they so desire.

Templates for Printed Publications

Templates are available for standard publication sizes in both InDesign (see examples - PDF)  and Publisher (see examples - PDF),. The templates include a preformatted primary identifier and are available for download. Login is required.

If a template is not available in a desired size; if you have a special circumstance; or if you need a primary identifier graphic developed, please send an email to identity@uwstout.edu.
