March 2015 Update: Standards are Being Revised

The Identity Committee has approved new business cards and stationery and made a number of revisions and additions to the Identity Standards which are not yet incorporated into the official document. Here are the approved changes so far:


The identity standards provide specifications for all official UW-Stout promotional materials. The standards ensure that the "look" of all communications promoting UW-Stout in print, electronic or broadcast media is consistent and recognizable.

Application of the identity standards

All acceptable uses are presented in the standards website and document.

  • If designers do not find a certain usage described, that means it is not acceptable.
  • These standards apply to all university-funded publications, websites, apparel and other merchandise bearing the university name, logos and marks. University publications include fliers, brochures, posters and other marketing materials produced within or on behalf of the university.
  • Consultants and private entities must follow these standards when they produce work for the university.
