Classified Paid Leave Reminders 2014
02/21/2014

A few reminders on 2014 paid leave (usage and carryover policies). As of January 1, 2014, the following will apply to your paid leave balances.

Vacation:

All classified employees will receive automatic carryover of their remaining 2013 vacation until 12/31/14. If the 2013 carryover is not used by that date it will be lost.

Remember, vacation is given up front for the calendar year so if you don't work the entire year the amount you earn will be prorated based on the hours that were worked during that calendar year.

Personal Holidays:

All employees must use their personal holiday hours in the same calendar year in which they are earned.

Sick Leave:

Sick leave hours are automatically carried over every year for all employees.

Legal Holidays:

All employees must use their legal holiday hours in the same calendar year in which they are earned.

Compensatory Time:

All classified employees will receive automatic carryover of their remaining comp time hours that were earned in 2013 for one calendar year. If comp time that was earned in 2013 is not used by 12/31/14 it will be paid out on the check dated 1/22/15.
