Graphic Designer

Job Title:

  • Graphics Designer (All positions currently filled)


  • 15 - 20 hours/week (Summer hours available)

Rate of pay:

  • Depends on qualifications. Probationary period applies.

Job Summary:

  • The Graphic Designers in the Housing Design Office specialize in developing posters, advertisements, publications, identities and more for University Housing, Counseling Center, and Health Services.


  • Work with University Housing professional staff to bring marketing concepts to life in a timely manner
  • Attend weekly meetings coordinated/facilitated by the Housing Design Student Office Manager
  • Create informational brochures and booklets with University Housing policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Web Developer to maintain images/graphics on the University Housing website
  • Foster a positive work attitude and open communication with clients
  • Develop skills and knowledge utilizing state of the art software and technology
  • Ensure all Housing Design files are backed up and organized properly
  • Update and organize University Housing stock photography files
  • Maintain communication with printing offices/businesses
  • Complete other responsibilities and projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have at least two semesters of student employment eligibility
  • Have a graphic design background or currently a graphic design major
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a flexible work schedule to meet operations needs
  • Strong experience with Adobe CS5 (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Ability to color separate documents designs
  • Digital photography experience is a plus
  • Video editing/filming experience is a plus
