Preserving and Providing Access to University History
Stout University Foundation Grant

$4,942 was awarded to Don Steffen, university editor, to provide more permanent and wider access to UW-Stout historical information, documents and artifacts. During the past two years, the Stout Historical Association has been working on developing more systematic ways to preserve and share the university’s history. It is receiving an increasing number of documents and artifacts. At this point, the SHA feels it appropriate to explore the use of a Web-based virtual museum to provide wide access to this historical information. In addition, there is a unique opportunity to videotape an outstanding historical presentation on Senator Stout and his family that is based on extensive research by Ellwyn Hendrickson.
