Mission Statement

The mission of the Wellness Committee is to act as an advisory committee to promote and support organization and individual wellness among members of the community through education and prevention. Furthermore, to team with community leaders, organizations, and resources to foster a collaborative approach to improve the overall health and wellness of our community. Our overarching goal is to facilitate improvement in the health, wellness, and quality of life in our community and to encourage positive behaviors and attitudes through a commitment to health.

Goals of Wellness Committee

• Offer programs which emphasize health awareness, disease prevention, and positive health behavior change
• Collaborate with community leaders to provide current information about health and wellness issues, which is based on scientific, evidence-based principles
• Foster a campus environment that supports healthy lifestyles and behavior changes
• Provide opportunities for the campus to increase knowledge, skills, and motivation to improve and maintain health that may enhance academic and/or work performance
• Support the University's vision of educating students to be lifelong learners and responsible citizens by committing to a high degree of ethical standards and embracing the principles of honesty, accountability, respect and trust.
