Organizations planning to decorate in the Memorial Student Center must
be approved by the Reservations office one week before the function. All
guidelines listed below must be followed.
Decorations must comply with all State and University fire and safety regulations.
(Real Christmas Trees, pine boughs with candles, hay bales, leaves,
straw, etc. will not be permitted)
Because of heavy demand for the Student Center facilities and our desire
to accommodate as many reservation request as possible, groups may be permitted
access to their reserved area no more than 2 hours prior to the activity
(exceptions are possible depending on date of event).
Decorations may be taped to block, vinyl or painted surfaces only.
Masking tape is the only type of tape that may be used on the approved surfaces.
Any other means of fastening decorations must be pre-approved by the
Reservation Office.
Decorations may not be taped to wood, glass, ceiling tiles, lighting
fixtures, metal ceilings, drapery, portable panels, etc.
The placing of centerpieces, flowers, table decorations, etc. should be
coordinated with the University Dining Service and/or Reservations staff.
The engager is responsible for removing all decorations such as tape and/or
other approved fastening devices. All decorations must be properly
disposed of or removed from the building immediately following the scheduled
function.
The engager will be responsible for any repairs or clean up costs that may
occur due to decorating.
