Contacting artists and entertainersmy sometimes be necessary for special events.  The following is a guide for the making initial contact with and artist or agency.  Please bear in mind that students are not permited make contractual agreements for the University.  Be sure to state clearly that you cannot legally make contract decisions for UW-Stout.
 

  1. Introduce yourself
  2. Identify the school that you are from and the organization you represent
  3. State the reason you are calling (i.e. I am calling to gather information for an event our organization may sponsor this year)
  4. Find out the following information
    1. Performer
    2. dates available
    3. price (or price break if performing at other area venues)
    4. Will they be performing anywhere in our area?
    5. Do they have any special requirements? 
  5. Request a publicity packet
  6. Thank them for their time and let them know when you'll get back to them
 
REMEMBER: CONTACT, DON'T CONTRACT
