Recognized student organizations and departments of Student
Life may reserve banner space at the Student Organization Center for the areas
located on the SE and NW soffit walls above the Cobblestone Court in the Memorial
Student Center. The space available for hanging banners will accommodate
4 banners at any given time. Academic departments sponsoring activities/programs
that benefit students will be allowed to reserve space upon special request.
Recognized student organizations and departments of Student Life will
have first priority.
- Any recognized student organization may reserve one (1) banner space to hang a banner for up to a week at a time. Banner requests will be accepted on a first come first serve basis at the Student Organization Center desk. Requests will be accepted for one (1) day up to a maximum of seven (7) consecutive days per activity/event.
- Information on the banners must not be reoccurring in nature i.e., weekly meetings, weekly
- Information on the banners must include name of sponsoring organization/department, date, time, and location of event
- A contact name and telephone number must be written on the back of the banner.
- If a typographical/spelling error is found on the banner, the banner will be removed and the contact person will be informed.
- Banners will be removed 24 hours after the event has occurred.
- Banners must be turned in to the SOC Desk, room 137 Memorial Student Center, no later than 24 hours prior to the reservation.
- Banners will be kept at the SOC desk for 48 hours after removal. If they are not picked up during that period of time, they will be destroyed.
- Information on banners must be in compliance with the campus advertising policy and with other campus policies.
- The staff of University Centers reserves the right to not post a banner.
- Questions regarding the banner policies, restrictions, and special circumstances should be directed to the Involvement staff.
- Pre-cut banner paper is available at the SOC desk. Poster-size markers are available for check out at the SOC desk.
