Furlong's head in bronzeJohn Furlong

In 1963 Dr. John Furlong moved to Menomonie, where he served as assistant to the president and chancellor at Stout University, retiring in 1985. John was the first financial director of the newly-created Stout Foundation when land was purchased for what is now Stout Technology Park. He was instrumental in getting an art major established at Stout, and the Furlong Art Gallery was named in his honor.
