University of Wisconsin - Stout

Since 1965, the Stout University Foundation has counted on private funds to support scholarships, laboratories, library materials and other academic programs not funded by state aid and tuition. UW-Stout is a "state-assisted" university with fewer than half of its funds provided from state dollars.

The Stout University Foundation looks to parents, alumni and friends to make up the remaining sixteen percent to maintain UW-Stout legacy of leadership into the next century.

UW-Stout is an internationally recognized university with many exciting opportunities to offer to its students. In order to maintain our outstanding reputation we need to look to private support — which is why during the spring semester, current students call parents seeking their financial support. Parents are encouraged to participate in the phonathon. It isn't the dollar value that is important but the number of participants who view UW-Stout as an important step in the education of the next generation.
