During her career in education, Diana has provided instruction in a variety of venues and contents. Much of Diana’s classroom teaching experience has been with students of middle school age as a Title I reading teacher, language arts teacher, French teacher, foreign language exploratory teacher, and 7th grade reading teacher. In addition, Diana has served as a District 6-12 Reading Specialist working with classroom teachers as they integrated reading strategies into content area instruction. In recent years, Diana has served as District Curriculum Director, supervising PreK-12 curriculum for language arts/reading, social studies, media, foreign language and the fine arts.

Diana has conducted workshops on instructional strategies in reading and language arts, improving reading achievement, teaching comprehension, and whole class strategies for reading instruction, as well as taught courses on content area reading literacy. She has authored and co-authored materials to be used by teachers in their classroom.

When Diana is not busy teaching reading courses and mentoring teachers, she enjoys spending time with family, especially a new grandson. She also enjoys time spent with friends cheering on favorite teams and enjoying music. Her hobbies include reading, writing poetry, and shopping. Diana would like to do more traveling and recently made her first trip to Europe with a visit to Prague and Paris.
