Brief Biography

I am currently the Director of Safety and Security for Mayo Clinic’s Southwest Wisconsin Region which includes hospitals and clinics in SW Wisconsin, SE Minnesota and NE Iowa . I am also an adjunct faculty member at East Carolina University, teaching in the Master of Occupational Safety Program and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin Stout, teaching in the Risk Management Program. From September 1997 through July 2006, I taught at the University of Minnesota Duluth where I achieved the rank of associate professor with tenure in the Department of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering’s Master of Environmental Health and Safety Program. Prior to teaching, I had 18 years of industry and consulting experience in industrial hygiene, safety and environmental engineering. I also have two years of laboratory experience in pathology at Washington State University.
