Center Mission

The Center's primary mission is to increase & enhance ethics across the campus community through:

• Workshops • Research
• Consultations• Service & Advising
• Ethics Scholar Program

There is NO charge to Stout units and individuals for center services. Non-Stout organizations are normally charged a fee and travel, and the funds are used to offset center expenses.

Center Services and opportunities offered to Stout departments and instructors:

  • Responsible Conduct of Research Training to meet NSF / NIH funding requirements
  •  
  • Ethics across the Curriculum Workshop:
    • One-day workshop where participants learn basics of ethics instruction and develop specific improvements to the ethics content of a course.
  • Center for Applied Ethics New/Revised Course Development Guidance:
    • Receive assistance with infusing ethics across the curriculum.
  • Workshops on Ethical Decision Making, using ethics case studies, research ethics, and organizational ethics

  • Presentations to groups or classes on ethics-oriented topics

  • Consultation with departments or individuals

  • Communities of interest

  • Professional ethics literature available for review

  • Campus Reading Seminars
