Students
The Discovery Center is focused on advancing UW-Stout’s educational mission, while providing solutions to business and industry challenges. Since July 2009, the center has facilitated dozens of collaborative projects involving cross-disciplinary teams of more than 300 students and faculty. These projects tap resources from every college on campus and connect UW-Stout with industry and community partners to:
- Enable full participation in student research and development
- Advance student knowledge and scholarship
- Reinforce student learning through real-world industry challenges
- Expand industry partner capacity and optimize resources
- Create next-generation technologies
- Innovate new products and effective processes and systems

Funding Information
Discovery Center projects require faculty involvement of varying depth,
based on the project needs and goals. Funding for projects is based on
the scope and scale of the project, as well as the expectations of the
funding partner. Funding for certain collaborative projects may be
obtained from grant funding or other sources.
