Inspiring partnerships for innovative and knowledge-driven solutions for business, student learning and economic development.
The Discovery Center, drawing on UW-Stout's polytechnic programs and its proximity to leading clinical organizations and medical device manufacturers, launched a broad Medical Device Innovations initiative in the fall of 2010. To provide focus and sustainability to this initiative, the campus hired Dr. Bertram Ezenwa, Distinguished Scientist, and supporting research assistants. Dr. Ezenwa has a joint appointment between the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the UW-Stout Discovery Center. A reviewer for the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health, Dr. Ezenwa facilitates collaborations among UW-Stout faculty and researchers from leading research institutions.
Expanding on the existing medical device development on campus and in regional companies, Dr. Ezenwa and the Discovery Center play a key role in providing strategic focus and expertise to advance UW-Stout's research capacity, provide medical solutions and enhance Wisconsin's economy.
