Dr. McAlister is currently an associate professor in the Department of Communication, Education, and Training at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He took over as the interim program director for the MS in Industrial/Technology Education in January of 2000. He currently teaches graduate and undergraduate professional education courses, directs pre-clinical experiences and supervises student teachers. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Western Illinois University and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Stout he taught in the technology teacher education programs at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas and at the University of Maryland-College Park. Dr. McAlister also has high school teaching experience and spent short time working for Oscar Mayer after completing his M.S.
