Mission and Values

Placement tests are given in English, Mathematics, and Foreign Languages (Spanish, French and German). The purpose of the placement tests is to provide the university with information to place students at the correct level of academic skills in a particular subject.

Required Math and English Placement Tests

New students attending UW-Stout are required to take the UW-System Placement Tests 4 weeks prior to your orientation date. The test determines your Math and English placement levels. Please contact an advisor in the  Advisement Center if you have further questions regarding class schedules or orientation dates. Current and Transfer students should also contact their advisor if they have questions regarding the need to take a placement test.
