Peak Oil Committee

The Peak Oil Committee was created to educate the campus about peak oil, discuss curricular implications with faculty and administration, investigate conservation and renewable energies for the campus and consider creation of a Center for Peak Oil Studies and Sustainability.

What is Peak Oil?

Peak Oil is the point in time when oil production reaches its maximum. At that time oil production will begin to decrease continuously and oil extraction and refinement will become more expensive. This will mean steadily decreasing supply, increasing costs for everything, and major changes in our lifestyle.

When will peak oil happen? The general consensus is soon. Watch the video below and visit the Peak Oil Links page to find out more.
