___Review Registration and Records and Graduate School requirements for graduation/degree conferral. Please note: graduation/degree conferral is not the same thing as commencement.
___Undergraduates: Login to AccessStout to run an Advisement Report. The Advisement report will let you know what degree requirements are completed or still incomplete.
___Meet with your Academic Advisor or Program Director on or before Advisement Day if you have questions about completing all program and degree requirements in time to participate in the Commencement Ceremonies. Completion of requirements includes thesis, co-ops, internships, student teaching, etc. within Fall or WinTerm for Winter Commencement, or, Spring or Summer Term for Spring Commencement.
___Apply for graduation by the deadline posted each term to be sure your name is included in the printed program. You may still apply after the deadline and participate in the ceremony but your name will not be included in the printed program. Application instructions
___Pay the graduation application fee. The $50 graduation application fee may be paid through Shoppes@Stout. The graduation application fee covers the processing of the application, the final degree audit, your diploma, mailing costs and your diploma cover (received at the commencement ceremony). You must pay the graduation application fee regardless of participation in the ceremony. If you do not attend the ceremony you can request to have your diploma cover mailed by emailing commencement@uwstout.edu after the ceremony.
___Update your contact information within AccessStout. This ensures you receive your diploma and other pertinent information in a timely manner.
___Pay any outstanding financial obligations including but not limited to tuition, fines, tickets, fees, etc. You will not officially have your degree conferred until all financial obligations to the university have been reconciled.
___Read and fill out information pertaining to your laptop.
___Contact Career Services for help finding professional positions, resume writing and other career-related assistance.
___Fill out the employment and continuing education survey, if you have accepted a position or have been accepted to Grad School.
___Visit the University of Wisconsin-Stout bookstore to order graduation announcements and academic regalia or order online here.
___Pick up your Commencement tickets (Graduate and Undergraduate) and honor cords (Undergraduates only), beginning at the Grad Fair held each Fall and Spring term in the Memorial Student Center. If you are unable to attend the Grad Fair, tickets may be picked up in Vocational Rehab 224 or requested to be mailed via email to commencement@uwstout.edu for off-campus students. Check the Frequently Asked Questions for what information to send.
___Don't forget to keep the UW-Stout Alumni Association up to date with your current e-mail and postal address. We like to keep our alumni informed and can't do this without your help. you can update your information at any time at www.uwstout.edu/alumni - click on "Update Your Record." We do not use your e-mail for anything other than campus news, job openings in your field and news of events in your area.
