Need Help?
A unique service offered by the University of Wisconsin-Stout Clinical Services Center
Unexpected problems arise for each of us, and we need to make difficult decisions that concern our personal lives. During these times, it is often comforting and beneficial to talk with someone who is experienced in helping others with concerns such as educational, couple and family relationships, and other important personal issues.
The UW-Stout Clinical Services Center (CSC) provides a unique service assisting children, adults, parents, families, school and human service agencies in West Central Wisconsin. The CSC is staffed by supervised students and faculty members of the Marriage and Family Therapy program, and School Psychology program. Qualified staff will address and provide treatment for a wide range of personal difficulties and concerns including:

- Emotional distress from divorce, loneliness, death, anxiety and fear.

Other Services Offered
The CSC staff uses a variety of diagnostic tools and clinical interventions to address areas of concern. A brief description of the services follows.
- Emotional/Behavioral Problems at Home or School
It is common for children or adolescents to have problems that interfere with their ability to function well at home, school or in their personal life. Individual and family therapy can help. - Premarital and Pre-Coupling Psychoeducation
This personalized service helps individual couples explore how to have a successful relationship. Some topics couples might explore include communication, conflict resolution, negotiating new relationships with family and friends, raising children, negotiating roles, career, sexuality and finances. - Family Transitions

Other transitions include parenting, school, launching children, retirement, taking care of elderly family members, or loss of a family member. Therapy can help children, parents, and spouses or partners adjust to these new roles, including adjusting to custody and visitation arrangements. - Psychoeducational Assessment
Assessments and counseling procedures are used to help identify learning disabilities and ways to improve learning and school success for children and adults. - Psychological Evaluation
Assessment and therapeutic procedures are effective ways to help children and adults understand and deal with psychological patterns and behaviors to improve their self-understanding and their capabilities to perform in day-to-day living situations.
