Admission Requirements and Registration

To be admitted to the certification courses (ITC Program) with full status, one application must be completed for the School of Education. Please visit the UW-Stout School of Education page to learn more about the Application and Initial Registration Process.

Prerequisite Requirements

Requirements for each of the following areas must be met to start the coursework. Additional requirements, such as years of experience, are required to be eligible for the DPI certification. (Please see the UW-Stout ITC Web site or the DPI Web site for the requirements.)

  1. Hold or eligibility to hold a teaching license at the early childhood through adolescent level or shall have completed an approved program leading to a license to teach OR Hold or eligibility to hold a license as a school counselor, a school psychologist, or a school social worker, or shall have completed an approved program leading to one of these licenses
  2. Completed one year as a licensed teacher, school counselor, school psychologist or school social worker
  3. Completed an Education-related Masters or Education Administration Masters (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) OR Hold bachelors degree in teaching discipline (minimum GPA 2.75 on a 4.0 scale) and be concurrently enrolled in Masters Program at UW-Stout.

Tuition

Tuition rates for customized instruction courses.

Some courses may require textbooks not included in the tuition fee. There are no additional technology fees. Tuition is payable by university billing, check, MasterCard, or Visa.
