Position Openings August 2008

 

Two tenure-track, entry-level assistant professor positions beginning August 2008.

We are looking for faculty who value teaching as a career and who are interested in teaching courses in technical and professional communication and Freshman English. Expertise is sought in some combination of the following: content management, information architecture and design, usability, international communication, linguistics, medical writing, documentation and project management, and cultural analysis of technology. Willingness to use technology in the classroom is essential as we are a laptop campus and a polytechnic university. All courses will have an on-line component. Expertise or interest in on-line delivery preferred. It is expected that the successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic and changing technical communication program.

Degree in Technical Communication, English, Rhetoric, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered. Willingness to pursue grants is a plus. Ph.D. and scholarship are required for promotion and tenure. Department/university service and student advising are expected. Menomonie is nestled in the highlands of Western Wisconsin, an hour’s drive from Minneapolis/ St. Paul.

Assistant Professor, entry-level position

We seek candidates with the potential to become excellent teachers who are interested in teaching courses in Freshman Composition and Literature. Degree in English or a related field. Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered. Ph.D. and scholarship are required for promotion and tenure. Willingness to use technology in the classroom is essential as we are a laptop campus. Expertise or interest in on-line delivery is desirable and willingness to pursue grants a plus.
