How To Drop Off Your Resume

IDEALLY, to make the best impression possible, you should meet personally with employers during the Career Conference.  However, if you don't have enough time to visit all the employers you want or can't attend the Career Conference, then drop your resume off with selected employers.

Here is how to do it

  • After identifying the day of your major log into your Stout CareerLink account.
  • Click “Career Events” in the top navigation bar.
  • From the list of events find the Career Conference day that is specific to your major.
  • Click on the “View Employers” link 
  • Select "Advanced Search"; then position type and major.
  • Click “Search.” You will see a list of the employers looking for your major.
  • Click on the employer name and then “Drop Resume”.
  • Select the resume you want to use from “Documents”.
  • Copy and paste your cover letter in the “Message” section indicating you unfortunately will or were not able to meet them in person and are requesting an interview.

IMPORTANT: If the employer is interested in you, you will be contacted for an interview.  However, if you have not heard from the employer within a week after the conference, you may want to contact them again to let them know you are still interested. Be sure to keep a copy the employers contact information for this purpose.
