University of Wisconsin - Stout

Introduction

Stout OneCards are provided to registered students and faculty/staff of the University at no charge. Stout OneCards serve as the official UW-Stout form of identification. For students this card will be valid any term they are enrolled and for faculty/staff, it will be valid for the duration of employment at the University. Upon request ID cards must be presented to University officials. The current replacement fee will be assessed if the card is lost.

All registered students and permanent employees (including part-time Limited Term Employees) are eligible for a Stout OneCard. ID cards remain active until one year from date of last attendance/employment. Employee status takes precedence over student status for the purpose of issuing a card.

If a cardholder leaves the University their Stout OneCard can continue to be used as a debit card, accessing their OneAccount, for as long as the cardholder wishes to utilize this service.

Unauthorized use or use by a party other than the person identified on the ID, as well as tampering or alteration, warrants confiscation and possible disciplinary action by the University.

ID cards must be properly cared for; if replacement is necessary due to abuse the cost of replacement will be responsibility of the owner. ID cards should be carried in a protective holder or a wallet.

Through a contractual relationship with Higher One, UW-Stout offers optional bank accounts that are linked to the StoutOne card. Students, faculty, and staff are not required to open an account with Higher One, and they do not need to have a Higher One account in order to use their StoutOne card for other card-authorized services, such as meal plans, door access, and library services. Many financial institutions are available within the community to meet personal banking needs, and UW-Stout encourages everyone to consider all options. UW-Stout followed a competitive procurement process in selecting and contracting with Higher One and, as part of that contract, receives financial consideration that is used to support the operation of the Campus Card office.
