About Us:
The function of Procurement and Materials Management (Purchasing) is to procure the desired product at the best price with timely delivery in a satisfactory manner. Our customers include: students, faculty and staff, Wisconsin taxpayers, legislators, vendors, and the UW System Administrators.
Purchasing follows policies and procedures that govern procurement practices imposed by the Wisconsin Legislature, Department of Administration (DOA), UW System, UW-Stout, and the Federal Department of Commerce.
Approximately 3200 purchase orders are issued annually with a total spent of $11.5 million!
Our office is located in Room 140 of the University Services Building, 817 S Broadway, Menomonie, WI 54751.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Brent Tilton has accepted the position of Purchasing Director. Brent will start his duties on August 4, 2008.
- Effective August 12, 2008, UW-Stout's charter coach provider will be Blackhawk Express -Bloomer, WI.
- Major changes to the extablished procedure for reserving charter coaches are:
- Departments are to contact Amanda or Diane (800-283-4234) at Blackhawk Express directly to reserve a coach, provide trip information, and obtain pricing. Large-volume users of charter coach services, i.e. athletics, are to submit requisitions for blanket orders. Others will be on a trip-by-trip basis.
- Menomonie Transportation school buses may be used on case-by-case basis. Their priority is public school transportation, so buses may not always be available. Contact Dave Howe at 235-4995 to arrange for school bus service.
- As before, submit purchase requisistions with attached, signed travel authorization to the Business Office. Once coded, they will be forwarded to Purchasing and purchase orders will be processed.
- (For accounting purposes, attach a flyer describing the event and state whether a fee is being charged. A finalized passenger list and itinerary are required for invoice payment. Forward these to Accounts Payable and reference purchase order number.)
