Travel Alert 11-13-09

Personal Cell Phone Reimbursement
Employees who use their personal cell phone for business-related calls may be reimbursed for those calls, but only if they exceed their plan minutes. The reimbursement of business calls would be at the excess minute rate, up to the number of minutes exceeding the plan limit for the month.

To be reimbursed, an employee must provide a copy of their cell phone bill identifying the business calls and noting the person called and the purpose of each call. No reimbursement of any business calls is permitted for a month in which the employee has not exceeded their plan minutes. In addition, reimbursements are not allowed based on a percentage of total calls made or for the cost of an employee-owned cell phone plan.

If flying over the holidays takes you through any of these airports it might be useful to know they're offering free WiFi. While Minneapolis isn't included, Madison and Milwaukee are along with 45 other airports across the country. This offer starts on November 16th and goes through January 15, 2010.

Important! Due to Secure Flight regulations, travelers must immediately update their traveler profile. If required information isn't available when flight is booked, traveler could experience long delays at the airport.
Additionally travelers and travel arrangers should contact any brick and mortar travel agencies they use to make the same changes to their passenger profiles. It's strongly encouraged travelers should log into their frequent flyer accounts with various airlines and ensure all accounts match the information (particularly name) contained in the travel agency passenger profile to eliminate any problems with not receiving FF points due to mismatched information.
