BUNDGAARD BAROMETER: Luke Bundgaard broke the school career scoring record when he scored the first offensive TD of the game, Saturday, running five yards untouched after setting up his TD with a 34-yard romp. Bundgaard now has 180 total points, all touchdowns. Hall of Famer Scott Fredrickson (1986-89) held the record at 178 points and was on hand to present Bundgaard with the game ball. STOUT COACH ED MEIERKORT SAYS: "(About St. Thomas game) this was not a good match-up them. Sometimes in a match-up, it is not conducive to your style and that's what happened to them. Our kids kept their concentration in a blowout and we got to see a lot of our younger guys. We held as many as six guys out (defensively) and our defense did a good job with a makeshift squad. "This will be a tough task this week against Oshkosh with their momentum and belief in their program. They knew they would be 3-0 (at this point in the season), have not played a road game and had last week off. They have pointed to this game since last year. They want to establish their running game, and we defend the run well. This will be a test of wills to see who blinks first. There will be some good match-ups with our veteran offensive line and their defensive line. Our first two games were against some awfully good teams, and that should help us as they emulated what we will see in the conference." RADIO: WMEQ 880 AM, Jake Bostrom, Steve Schrantz; All games be broadcast live over the Internet at www.wmeq.com September 27, 2003BLUE DEVILS DOMINATE TOMMIES FROM TOP TO BOTTOM MENOMONIE - On a Hall of Fame Game Day, the UW-Stout football team ran to a 51-3 win, Saturday, Sept. 27 at Don & Nona Williams Stadium. The Blue Devils scored early and often, and ran up 412 total yards - in the first half. Luke Bundgaard (Sr, Weyerhaeuser), who holds the school all-time rushing record, broke the school career scoring record midway through the first quarter on a 5-yard run. Bundgaard set up the score with a 34 yard jaunt on the previous play. Bundgaard now has 180 career points, surpassing the mark of 178 by Scott Fredrickson, who was on hand to present Bundgaard with the game ball after the score.
