UW-Stout heads into its second year of varsity golf and used the first season to form the base on which to build on.
Second year coach Kris Schoonover, who built a program from scratch at UW-Oshkosh, returns four players from last year's team.
Molly Loney (Jr, River Falls) led the Blue Devils the entire season and is expected to be the team leader again this year.
"Molly has all of the tools needed to compte for top 10 tournament titles," Schoonover said. "As her tournament experience grows, so will her opportunity to finish strong. Molly is a tenacious competitor who is driven to excel. She is our leader for this program, on and off the golf course."
Also returning for the Blue Devils will be Kelsey Treptow (So, Wells, Minn), Cadi O'Connell (So, New Richmond) and Anastasia Kinney (So, Portage).
All three players have shown improvement throughout the course of their play.
"Cadi continues to improve by leaps and bounds," Schoonover said. "I look for her to have a tremendous year with the experience of her first season of competition.
"Kelsey comes back the season armed with a tremendous amount of confidence and belief. She proved that hard work and a great attitude will push her scores lower each time out.
"Anastasia has the ability as a powerful ball striker to compete each weekend. I look for her to be moving up on conference opponents."
Two incoming freshmen are expected to have an immediate impact on the team - Morgan Loney (Fr, River Falls) and Cynthia Huber (Fr, White Bear Lake, Minn).
Morgan Loney is the sister of Stout's Molly Loney and former UW-Eau Claire standout Maggie Loney, giving her an inside track on what play in the WIAC is like.
"Morgan has the knowledge and understanding of how competitive the WIAC is and she is ready to and excited to give it a try herself," said Schoonover.
