Coach Frank announces 2008 recruits
MENOMONIE (April 8, 2008) - Coach Meagan Frank announced that the following student-athletes have decided to attend UW-Stout and intend to play soccer for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils will open their 2008 season Friday, Aug. 29 at Augsburg College. Stout's first home game is Wednesday, Sept. 17 when they host UW-River Falls.

MENOMONIE (April 7, 2008) - The UW-Stout women's soccer team will hold a summer camp June 10-13 at Nelson Field.
A morning session from 10:30 a.m. to noon is for ages 5-10. An afternoon session from 12:15-1:45 p.m. is for ages 11 through high school.

MENOMONIE (December 5, 2007) - The UW-Stout women's soccer team will host a series of Winter Skills Sessions over four Sundays in January, and will also host a two-day soccer camp in February.
In the January sessions, the skills sessions and small-sided games are geared toward specific age groups and at least 20-30 minutes of each session will be devoted to skills development and technique. The last part of each session will be small-sided games.
The sessions are scheduled for January 6, 13, 20 and 27 in the multi-purpose room (indoor track) of the Sports and Fitness Center. Ages 5-6 will be held from 11:15am to 12:30 p.m. Ages 7-10 from 12:45-2:15 pm, ages 11-14 from 2:30-4 p.m. and high school age from 4:15-5:45 pm. Cost is $8 when registered before Dec. 29, 2007, and $10 drop-in rate for each session. Cost is $30 when registered for all sessions.
The February Soccer Camp will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17. Ages 5-6 will be held from 8-10 a.m. Ages 7-8 from 10:15 a.m.-12:15 pm, ages 9-11 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 12-year old thorugh high school age from 2:45-4:45 pm. Cost is $10 for one session and $18 for both sessions. Registration is due by Sunday, Feb. 10.

Michelle Lizotte voted team MVP
MENOMONIE (December 3, 2007) - UW-Stout’s forward Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine/Horlick) was recently named team MVP, as voted on by the rest of the squad, coach Meagan Frank announced recently.
Lizotte’s season stats back up the decision; she led the team with four goals on 35 shots, four assists, and 12 points, and shared a team-best 16 shots on goal with Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford). Lizotte's season earlier earned her a spot on the all-WIAC soccer team.
Other season awards voted on by the team went to Mone’t Morning (Jr, Hayward) for Most Valuable Defender and Laura Howard (Jr, Hudson), who was named Most Inspirational.
The Blue Devils soccer team also recently voted Kaitlin Arjes (Fr, Owatonna, Minn) and Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) as the team’s winter captains.
Lizotte named to all-WIAC team

MENOMONIE (November 7, 2007) - UW-Stout forward Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine/Horlick) was named to the 2007 all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) soccer team.
As
a freshman, Lizotte was the teams' leading second scorer with 14 goals,
matching a then-school record, and 10 assists. Lizotte was a first team
all-WIAC pick as a sophomore, scoring eight goals and six assists, as Stout's
leading scorer. During her junior season, Lizotte was called on to perform
a more defensive role and stepped out of the scoring limelight, scoring
one goal and five assists. This season, the speedy Lizotte was again Stout's
leading scorer, scoring four goals and four assists.
For her career, Lizotte finished with 27 goals and 25 assists.
Laura Howard (Jr, Hudson) was named to the 2007 all-sportsmanship team. The sportsmanship team was selected for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school as selected by that school.
Whitewater puts end to Blue Devil season

WHITEWATER (October 27, 2007) - UW-Whitewater defeated UW-Stout 3-0 in the first round of the WIAC women's soccer tournament Tuesday, October 30 at Fiskum Field in Whitewater, Wisconsin .
Stephanie DesJardins scored on a header just twenty-one minutes into the game. The goal was assisted by Becky Cera, her team high eight h assists in the season.
Just five mintues before halftime Sara Brown scored her fourth goal of season with an assist by Melanie Billinghurst.
Sixty-two minutes into the game Mary Donohoo scored her eleventh goal of the season. Donohoo is fourth in goals scored in the Wisconsin Intercollgiate Athletic Conference.
UW-Whitewater is now 12-7-1. UW-Stout finishes their season 6-12-0.
The Warhawks will travel to University of Wisconsin Eau Claire to play UW-Stevens Point on Friday, November 2 to play in the WIAC semi-finals at 2:00 p.m. UW-Eau Claire faces UW-La Crosse at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd in the other semi-final.

Pointers score three in first half to down Stout

MENOMONIE (October 27, 2007) - UW-Stevens Point scored three goals in the first half, but the Stout defense shut the Pointers down in the second half as Stevens Point defeated Stout, 3-0, Saturday at Nelson Field.
The Pointers' (13-3-1, 7-1-0) struck early and often as Amanda Prawat scored twice within 34 seconds in the eighth minute.Vicki Bieschke scored in the 40th minute to close out the scoring for the day.
While the Pointers outshot Stout, 15-5, on the day, the Blue Devils (6-11-0, 3-5-0) kept the Pointer offense in check, allowing only four total second half shots, two on goal. Stout held a 4-0 lead in corner kicks in the second half.
Katie Thompson (Sr, St. Francis, Minn) took the loss for the Blue Devils, working the first half and recording three saves. Jessica Halvorson (Jr, Delano, Minn) allowed no goals in the second half and stopped two shots.
Stout will be in the quarterfinals of the WIAC tournament Tuesday, Oct. 30 at UW-Whitewater at 2 p.m.

Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) picked up two wins last week and
was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) defensive
soccer player of the week.
Halverson stopped six shots in a 2-1 win at St. Mary’s University (Minn.) on Oct. 21 and seven shots in a 3-1 triumph over UW-River Falls on Oct. 17. The win over St. Mary’s halted the Cardinals’ 23-match non-conference winning streak.
Stout stays on winning track, down Cardinals

WINONA, Minn (October 21, 2007) - Kaitlin Arjes (Fr, Owatonna, Minn) put an end to St. Mary's 23-game non-conference winning streak when the UW-Stout forward scored the game winner with about 16 minutes left to play to give Stout a 2-1 win over the Cardinals Sunday at Ochrymowycz Field.
Arjes took a pass from Harper Giese (Fr, Winona, Minn) that she buried home as Stout (6-10-0) overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit.
St. Mary's (9-7-0) peppered the Stout goal in the first half, but Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) turned away five shots. The Cardinals' Amy Sibik scored to give St. Mary's the 1-0 lead when her header hit the crossbar and fell in.
The Blue Devil defense tightened in the second half, allowing only one second half shot on goal as Stout evened the score 13 minutes into the second stanza when Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford), assisted by Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine), scored.
Halverson finished the day with six saves, while St. Mary's goalie Marianna Sanchez had five saves. In total shots, St. Mary's outshot Stout, 18-15. With the win, Stout has won four of their last five games.
Stout will close out the home, conference and regular season Saturday, Oct. 27 when they host UW-Stevens Point at 2 p.m. The WIAC tournament will begin Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Blue Devils win a wet one at River Falls

RIVER FALLS (October 17, 2007) - Over the past week, UW-Stout's Rachel Herzog (Jr, Owatonna, Minn) has been putting her name out there.
Coming into the season, Herzog had no career goals and she carried that through the middle of this season. Herzog scored her second goal in as many games, getting the only goal of the first half and Stout went on to a 3-1 win at UW-River Falls Wednesday on a warm, wet and breezy afternoon. Herzog scored unassisted in the ninth minute of the game from about 15 feet out.
Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine) would get what would prove to be the game winning goal for the Blue Devils (5-10-0, 3-4-0) in the 60th minute on an assist by Jessica Price (Fr, Woodbury, Minn). The Falcons (2-11-3, 1-3-2) cut the lead in half when Kelly Piersak scored in the 77th minute.
Price got into the scoring act later in the game when she put took a cross from Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford) in the 89th minute and headed the ball into the goal.
The Blue Devils pretty much controlled the field, outshooting the Falcons, 17-9. Stout put 12 shots on goal to eight for River Falls. Stout's Jessica Halvorson (Jr, Delano, Minn) had seven saves, including a save late in the game when the score was 2-1. The Falcons' Jen Taylor put a shot on goal from about 18 feet out and Halvorson tipped the ball up and over the crossbar to preserve the lead. Emily Stieler had nine saves for the Falcons.
Stout will be at St. Mary's, Sunday, Oct. 21. Stout's final home game will be Saturday, Oct. 27 when they host UW-Stevens Point at 2 p.m.
Physical game finds Stout on short end

MENOMONIE (October 13, 2007) - In a game that saw 15 fouls on both teams and pushing and checking were the norm, UW-Stout came up short, 2-1, to UW-Whitewater, Saturday at Nelson Field.
The Warhawks (9-6-1, 3-2-1) opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Alyssa Palmer scored, but Stout (4-10-0, 2-4-0) came right back four minutes later when Rachel Herzog (Jr, Owatonna, Minn) scored her first collegiate goal on an assist by Katie Ness (Fr, River Falls).
Whitewater got the eventual winner in the 34th minute on a goal by Allison Davis and it was defense from there-on out.
The teams were limited to only 15 total shots - eight for Whitewater, seven for Stout - and Whitewater had six shots on goal, while Stout put five on goal. Both Stout's goalkeeper, Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) and Whitewater's keeper, Amy Bailey, had four saves.
Stout will be at UW-River Falls, Wednesday, Oct. 17 and at St. Mary's, Sunday, Oct. 21. Stout's final home game is Saturday, Oct. 27 when they face UW-Stevens Point.
Arjes' goal lifts Stout over Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn (October 11, 2007) - Kaitlin Arjes (Fr, Owatonna, Minn) scored her second consecutive game-winning goal as UW-Stout downed Hamline University, 1-0, Thursday.
Arjes scored in the 76th minute, with an assist from Rachel Herzog (Jr, Owatonna, Minn), for her second collegiate goal.
The Blue Devil (4-9-0) offense attacked the Pipers (7-5-0) throughout the game, putting 14 shots on goal, including nine in the second half. Stout held a 23-15 overall edge in shots. Jessica Halvorson (Jr, Delano, Minn) stopped all three shots Hamline put on frame.
The win is Stout's second consecutive. The Blue Devils will host UW-Whitewater, Saturday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m., then will be at UW-River Falls, Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Stout breaks streak at Superior

SUPERIOR (October 6, 2007) - While the rest of the state was basking in 80 degree temperatures, UW-Stout was dealing with cold, windy, muddy conditions near the banks of Lake Superior. But the Blue Devils shook off the elements and broke a five game losing streak with a 3-0 win at UW-Superior Saturday.
Going into the cold wind off Lake Superior for the first half, neither team scored but Stout (3-9-0, 2-3-0) broke through in the second half.
Katie Ness (Fr, River Falls) fed Kaitlin Arjes (Fr, Owatonna, Minn) for the Blue Devils' first goal of the game.
In a virtual scrum inside the box, Kelsey Keimig (Jr, White Bear Lake, Minn) tapped the ball to Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine) to give Stout a 2-0 lead. Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford) broke loose late in the game and scored when she slipped the ball underneath the Superior (5-5-1, 0-4-0) goalkeeper.
Stout returns to action Thursday, Oct. 11 for a 4 p.m. contest at Hamline University, then will host UW-Whitewater, Saturday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m.
Stout is shut out by Eau Claire

MENOMONIE (October 3, 2007) - UW-Stout could only got one shot on goal as UW-Eau Claire dominated play and defeated the Blue Devils, 3-0, Wednesday night at Nelson Field.
Shannon Conlin started the scoring for the Blugolds in the first half when she was assisted by Allison Smith for the goal. In the second half, Sam Krueger headed in a pass from Amy Smith to give Eau Claire a 2-0 lead. Liz Kooistra's goal late in the game sealed the 3-0 victory for the Blugolds.
Kaitlin Arjes (Fr, Owatonna, Minn.) received the lone shot on goal for Stout (3-9, 1-3). Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine) took the only other shot for them, but failed to hit the net. Goalkeeper Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) put up a season-high 10 saves in 90 minutes of play.
Ten Eau Claire (9-0-1, 3-0-0) players got at least one shot on goal. Amy Smith took three to go with her two assists, and Jamie Schiesel put two shots on goal.

Eagles double up on Blue Devils

LA CROSSE (September 29, 2007) - UW-Stout outshot UW-La Crosse in the second half, but not overcome an early deficit as the Eagles defeated the Blue Devils, 2-0, Saturday.
The Eagles's Ramsey Weyenberg scored in the first half to give La Crosse an early lead.
The Blue Devils, in an attempt to knot the score in the second half, pushed their defenders up and La Crosse's Aimee Schneider slipped a shot into the goal. The Blue Devils had the attacks, but clanked one shot off the cross bar and Eagles' goal keeper Amanda Clark made some athletic saves. Stout's Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) had five saves on the day.

Dubuque scores three late goals to beat Stout

DUBUQUE, Iowa (September 23, 2007) - UW-Stout could not hold off the University of Dubuque, which scored three goals in the final nine minutes of the game, as the Blue Devils fell to Dubuque, 3-2, Sunday, in Dubuque, Iowa.
Stout got off to an early first-half lead when Kelsey Keimig (Jr, White Bear Lake, Minn) was assisted by Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine) for the score. The Blue Devils (2-7-0) added another goal in the second half on a penalty kick by Lizotte. The 2-0 lead held until there was only nine minutes left in the game. Then Caitlin Tero of Dubuque (7-0-2) took over the game. She went on a scoring rampage, scoring three goals in the final nine minutes of the game. Brittney Lund and Sarah Shelander each put forth two assists towards Tero's goals.
Stout's Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford) put three shots on goal, as did Lizotte, who also ended with a goal and an assist. Goalkeeper Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) ended the game with six saves.
The Blue Devils will try to end their three-game skid when they travel to UW-La Crosse on Saturday, Sept. 29.
UW-Oshkosh squeaks past Blue Devils

MENOMONIE - (September 22 , 2007) - UW-Oshkosh's Torri Hoffman dribbled through a big lane of traffic and scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute as the Titans defeated UW-Stout, 1-0, Saturday at Nelson Field.
The loss marked the second consecutive 1-0 loss for the Blue Devils and their third consecutive 1-0 contest. But Stout looked a lot sharper than they did in their previous outing. The Blue Devils (2-6-0, 1-1-0 WIAC) attacked early as Holli Swisher (Fr, Benton Harbor, Mich) and Kelsey Keimig (Jr, White Bear Lake, Minn) created opportunities in the first six minutes of the contest.
The game settled down into a hard-hitting, defensive battle. Stout's Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn) recorded seven saves, while the Titans' (2-6-0, 1-1-0) Laura Neve also recorded seven saves.
Stout will be at the University of Dubuque, Sunday, Sept. 23, then will be off until Saturday, Sept. 29 when they travel to UW-La Crosse.
Blue Devils shut out by St. Catherine

MENOMONIE - (September 19, 2007) - Seven UW-Stout players combined to get 11 shots off, but none of them found the net as they fell to the St. Catherine Wildcats 1-0,Wednesday at Nelson Field.
Katie Zernikel (So, Hartford), Kelsey Keimig (Jr, White Bear Lake, Minn.), Amanda Melendez (Jr, Woodbury, Minn), and Jessica Price (Fr, Woodbury, Minn) each attempted two shots. Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford), Laura Howard (Jr, Hudson), and Katie Ness (Fr, River Falls) each shot one. Stout put none of their shots on goal. Goalkeeper Jessica Halverson (Jr, Delano, Minn.) ended the game with six saves.
The Wildcats' lone goal came in the 81st minute when Sam Kreibich was assisted by Jamie Lowinske for the score. Gina Thorwick and Kelsey Nistler each added two shots on goal for St. Catherine.
Stout resumes play when they host UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. The Blue Devils will be at the University of Dubuque, Sunday, Sept. 23.
Hahn scores to give Stout conference win

PLATTEVILLE - (September 15, 2007) - Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford) picked an opportune time to score her first collegiate goal as UW-Stout made her goal stand up in a 1-0 conference opening win over UW-Platteville Saturday.
Hahn scored unassisted in the 70th minute of the game as she headed the ball into the net.
Both team's defenses played stingy all evening, as the offenses were allowed only five total shots on goal - Stout (2-4, 1-0) with three shots on goal, Platteville (1-2-3, 0-1) two. Platteville held a 7-4 edge in total shots.
Stout returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 19 when they host St. Catherine at 7 p.m. in a non-conference tilt. The Blue Devils return to conference action Saturday, Sept. 22 when they host UW-Oshkosh at 2 p.m.
St. Norbert edges Blue Devils in overtime

MENOMONIE - (September 9, 2007) - St. Norbert's Jessica Schadrie scored three-minutes, 14-seconds into overtime to lift the Green Knights over UW-Stout, 4-3, Sunday at Nelson Field.
But after the first 25-plus minutes of play, it seemed almost inconceivable that Stout would even have a chance to get back into the game, much less send it into overtime. After St. Norbert (3-2-0) built a 3-0 lead with their third goal of the game coming at the 25:28 mark, Stout finally found their play.
Jessica Price (Fr, Woodbury, Minn) scored her first goal of the season five minutes before halftime, taking a pass from Kelsey Keimig (Jr, White Bear Lake, Minn) in the middle of a scrum.
Following what must have been a very impressive halftime discussion, Stout (1-4-0) wasted absolutely no time getting on the board as Amanda Melendez (Jr, Woodbury, Minn) scored only 24 seconds into the period. Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine), who would have a number of very solid runs late in the game, collected the assist.
Six minutes later, Holli Swisher (Fr, Benton Harbor, Mich) scored unassisted and it was a whole new ball game.
The Knights' Rachelle Barina and Ann Maki connected twice early in the game to give St. Norbert a 2-0 lead. Schadrie assisted Stephanie Gatyas in the 25th minute to take what seemed like a commanding lead.
Both goalies - Katie Thompson (Sr, St. Francis, Minn) for Stout, Mallory Ford for St. Norbert - finished with nine saves.
Stout will open conference play Saturday, Sept. 15 when they travel to UW-Platteville.
Gustavus Adolphus shuts out Blue Devils

MENOMONIE - (September 8, 2007) - UW-Stout was not able to get on the board all night as Gustavus Adolphus defeated them, 4-0.
Christy Tupy started the scoring when she was assisted by Ashley Voigtlander for the goal. The Gusties' second goal came on a penalty kick by Becca Hagen. The third came on a header by Ashley Anderson with the assist from the corner by Rachel Iblings. Gustavus added their fourth goal at the 70-minute mark when Chelsea Craven put in in unassisted.
The Blue Devil's Trisha Alt (Jr, Sauk Prairie) had two shots on goal coming off the bench, while Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford) had Stout's only other shot on goal. Goalkeeper Katie Thompson (Sr. St. Francis, Minn.)finished with four saves.
Stout will try to get back on track when they host St. Norbert, Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
Blue Devils score quick, down Bethel

MENOMONIE - (September 5, 2007) - UW-Stout's Laura Howard (Jr, Hudson) and Katie Ness (Fr, River Falls) scored goals within four minutes of each other early in the first half and the Blue Devils went on to pick up their first win of the season, Wednesday, in their home opener at a hot and sultry Nelson Field, downing Bethel University, 2-1.
Howard opened the scoring just in front of the net in the 16th minute, taking an assist from Michelle Hahn (Fr, Hartford). The Blue Devils (1-2-0) came right back about four minutes later when Ness scored unassisted from the right side of the net.
The Blue Devils' Katie Thompson (Sr, St. Francis, Minn), making her first collegiate start, had her shutout bid thwarted in the final 30 seconds of the game when the Royals' (1-1-0) Jane Stephens lifted a shot high into the net. Thompson made three saves on the evening, while the Royals' Charli Sorensen had five saves.
Stout will host Gustavus Adolphus, Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. and St. Norbert, Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. in a pair of Family Weekend games.

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (September 1, 2007) - After a solid opening game performance, UW-Stout looked tired and came up empty in a second day, 3-0, loss to Concordia-Moorhead Saturday.
The Cobbers (1-0) scored in the 13th minute off a penalty kick, then added goals in the 72nd and 76th minutes as they outshot Stout (0-2), 21-1 on the day.
Stout resumes action Wednesday, Sept. 5 when they host Bethel University at 4 p.m. Stout will host Gustavus Adolphus, Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. and St. Norbert, Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
St. Benedict scores late to tip Blue Devils

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (August 31, 2007) - Trailing 2-0 at halftime, UW-Stout scored two goals within 40 seconds of each other early in the second half to tie the game, but the Blue Devils lost their opener, 3-2, at St. Benedict Friday.
St. Benedict jumped out early when Alison Tourville scored in the 13th minute and Tina Lisk doubled the lead in the 32nd minute.
The Blue Devils (0-1) went to work in the 56th minute of the game. Michelle Lizotte (Sr, Racine) scored on an assist by freshman Andrea Greer (Fr, Woodbury, Minn). Thirty-seven seconds later, Katie Ness (Fr, River Falls) notched her first career goal, getting the assist from Lizotte.
With about 14 minutes remaining in the game, St. Ben's Allison Draxler got the game winner.
Stout's Alle Stauss (Sr, Mosinee) went the distance for the Blue Devils in the goal, giving up the three goals and making seven saves. Shannon Strom got the win with six saves.
Stout will remain in St. Joseph, Minn, to face Concordia-Moorhead, Saturday, Sept. 1 at noon.
Blue Devils raise nearly $800 for cancer research
MENOMONIE (May 12, 2007) - Members of the UW-Stout women’s
soccer team fundraised for and then walked in the 2007 UW-Stout Relay for
Life. Over the course of 12 hours, starting April 20 and lasting until early
morning April 21, at least two members of the team walked on the track for
the event.
Friends and relatives of the players contributed to the cause and the team
was able to donate nearly $800 toward cancer research.
Team leaders, sophomores Laura Howard and Cassey Haase, remained through
the entirety of the relay, walking for an estimated 10 hours. Other players
who joined the cause include: Trisha Alt, Jessica Halverson, Rachel Herzog,
Kelsey Keimig, Molly Lang, Chantell Larkins, Michelle Lizotte, Amanda Melendez,
Anna Peterson, Heather Schrader, Ali Sonsteby, Alle Stauss, Courtney Ulmen,
Mallory Voeks, Chandra Westberg and Katie Zernikel.
Katelynn Rindahl named team MVP
MENOMONIE (December 3, 2006) - Forward Katelynn Rindahl (Sr, Cambridge) was named the most valuable player by the UW-Stout soccer team.
Rindahl provided team leadership to a young team adjusting to a new system and recorded two assists on the season.
Michelle Lizotte (Jr, Racine) was selected as most valuable offensive player and Al Smith (Sr, Chippewa Falls) was the team's most valuable defensive player. Lizotte scored one goal and provided five assists. Smith scored one goal - her second career goal and her second career game-winning goal - and was named to the all-WIAC team.
Megan Lee (Sr, Cambridge) and Laura Howard (So, Hudson) were selected as most inspirational.
Al Smith selected to All-WIAC team
MENOMONIE (November 8, 2006) - UW-Stout defender Al
Smith (Sr, Chippewa Falls) was named to the 2006
All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) soccer team.
Smith has been an integral part of the Blue Devil defense throughout her
four-year career. This season, despite the team going 5-11-0, the Blue Devils
posted four shutouts.
Smith has scored two goals in her career, and both have been the game-winning-goals.
This season, Smith came up to pop the game-winner late in the game in a
1-0 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
"I think it is wonderful that Al is being recognized for her hard work
and continued dedication," said coach Meagan Frank. "She was by
far the most consistent defender for us and she managed to frustrate even
the most talented offenses we faced."
