Our alumni readers want to know want what you're up to these days. Class news and notes are featured in our Outlook email newsletter and annual magazine. We want to know about the changes in your life. 

Let us share your news about job changes, promotions, awards/recognition, retirement, and family milestones. You can also submit articles to be considered for the Outlook magazine. Here are some common reasons to send us your class news and notes:

  • You got a new job or promotion 
  • You had a baby or adopted a child
  • You got married or entered into an official union 
  • You published a book

Stephanie Tomczyk `15 & Tanner Stensen `15 got engaged on their six year anniversary, Sept. 6, 2017, on the UW-Stout football field.


John Plank `74 retired after 43 years in the packaging business, lastly from Boxboard Products-Greensboro, N.C. as director of design. He now resides in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Peter Castrilli `71 is the senior vice president of programs serving Dept. of Defense and the U.S. Agencies, Cape Canaveral; Vandenberg AFB, Cali.

John Gehrke `80 retired from teaching 34 years. The last 29 were in building trades at Whiteside Area Career Center in Sterling, Ill. He also set the school record for the most unused sick days. (431 days)


Matt Saumer `94 is the general manager of a TownePlace Suites by Marriott. This completes his goal of managing all of Marriott’s select service properties.

Raphael LeBrun `61 retired from Southern Door in Brussels.

David Stout `75 retired in August from Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. Allentown, Pa.

Grechen Chavis `04 graduated with a masters in social work from Eastern Michigan University.

Michael D. Mann, 44, of Durand, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. Michael was a power plant operator in the heating plant since December 2015.
