Quality Seekers Seek UW-Stout
Five years later, UW-Stout is still busy with Baldrige.
Representatives of Massey University in New Zealand were on
the UW-Stout campus to pick the brains of faculty and staff members Nov. 6. The
international visitors wanted to know what the UW-Stout campus did to achieve the
Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Their questions focused on leadership,
culture, systems and people.
In 2001, UW-Stout became the first university to receive the award. Since then,
Stout administrators have shared their strategies and best practices worldwide by
participating in approximately 25 speaking engagements each year; publishing articles,
chapters of books and case studies; judging state quality programs; and welcoming
award candidates to campus.
On Nov. 29, the process starts all over again. UW-Stout will host visitors from
the Nanyang Polytechnic of Singapore.
