» Weekday Campus Visit

The best way for you to be certain that UW-Stout is where you want to be is to see it for yourself. While you're here, you'll have a chance to experience the atmosphere, and meet faculty and students in person.

Plan to spend a few hours with us talking to admissions counselors, touring the campus, eating lunch on campus,* and meeting program directors or advisers for the programs you are interested in. You can request meetings with counselors in the Financial Aid Office or other support services to discuss more specific concerns you have.

If you're in the area, feel free to stop in. But if you call or write beforehand for an appointment with the Admissions Office, we'll be better prepared to answer your questions.

* A free lunch for you and one family member during the academic year.

» Summer Visit

Plan a visit to UW-Stout during your summer vacation!

Once you've finalized your vacation plans, make an appointment to visit UW-Stout and take a campus tour. Conveniently located near I-94, UW-Stout is right on the way to many of your summer destinations. You'll find a quiet campus. Most of our students go home or work on internships during the summer months, so you won't find streets and sidewalks packed with students, like you see in our brochures.

A summer college visit can help you fine tune the list of colleges you'll apply to in the fall. You can take a one hour walking tour of campus with one of our current students and a one hour session with an admissions counselors. Faculty, unfortunately, are often not available during the summer months. However, the colleges are providing someone to meet with visiting families on Mondays and Fridays. Please keep in mind that this person may not be specific to your major.

Summer campus visits are offered weekdays June 2 – August 22.

» Special Group Visits

Plan a group visit to UW-Stout!

UW-Stout welcomes student groups and other educational programs to visit our campus! During your visit you’ll have opportunities to experience what life as a UW-Stout student is like. These visits are intended for groups of seven or more students from middle or high school.

Your visit will include a presentation by an Admissions representative and a campus tour. There may also be opportunities for:

  • a student panel in which UW-Stout students answer questions about the college experience
  • lunch at the Merle Price Commons where Stout students eat
  • meetings with a faculty member from the majors students are interested in

These additional opportunities are not always guaranteed.

We’ll accommodate as many requests as possible, however, we may not be able to honor all visit requests due to limited availability of staff and facilities. To ensure an excellent experience, group size is limited to a maximum of 70 students and require one chaperone for every 10 students. Please allow at least three weeks to make arrangements for a group visit, so that we can provide you with the best visit possible.

To schedule a group visit, please complete and submit the form linked below.
