What place in the US would you most like to visit? Why?
That’s a toss-up between Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. As to the ‘why,’ it’s probably just because they are natural wonders of the world and to have them so close I thought would be a truly awesome experience.

What place outside of the US would you most like to visit? Why?

That would have to be Austria. That is where my great-grandparents on both sides are from and I’d love to see if I can find any distant relatives. I know what city in Austria both great-grandparents on my mother’s side were born in so it would be great to investigate that area.

What was the funniest incident in your college life?
The funniest incident in my college life was in an Intro to Guidance class where we had to give a presentation on the chapter (or part of the chapter) we were given to cover and then present to the class. Mine talked about basically not to look at the surface (what a person looks like) but deeper — the old ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ when working with students. As a motorcycle rider I presented this by wearing all my ‘leathers’ and as I started talking — which was “had any of you met me a couple of weeks ago when I was dressed like this instead of how many of you met me which was in my office setting, you may have gotten a different first impression of me.”  By the time I was taking off my chaps, several women in the class that knew me and had been in several other classes with me, had started humming the ‘stripper’ theme. We all laughed but everyone remembered what I talked about.

Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Not a chance, why would I want to do that? However, I do untie them to put them back on!

What are you listening to right now?
A light rock station; quietly.

Which is the best vacation you’ve ever had in your life?
I spent a few days with one of my sisters in Las Vegas. It was a very enjoyable time to just spend some quality time with her and all the people-watching and site-seeing we did. There was very little gambling done but I sure wish I had worn a pedometer to see how much we walked. The sights, sounds and smells were unbelievable. Pictures didn’t do the night sky of Vegas justice. You have to see it ‘live.’

Desk: messy or organized?
Usually organized but right now messy; but an organized messy.  I know where everything is!

Why do you like living in this area?
Menomonie isn’t too small or too big.  I live in a somewhat rural area so that’s nice, having peace and quiet most of the time. We’re close to the larger communities (30 minutes to Eau Claire and 45-60 minutes to the Minneapolis/St Paul area) via I-94. Menomonie has the basics of what I need so I don’t have to leave here real often but yet I don’t have to be gone a long time to experience something different whether it be shopping or the arts.
