If you had to change your first name right now,
what name would you choose for yourself?

If I had to go into a witness protection program I would chose Mackenzie. It is my daughter Gillian’s middle name and it came to me in a dream! I also fancy being a bit Scottish and it sounds Scottish, eh?

If money were not an object, what would you do with your life?
I would love to set up a foundation to support the dreams of other people. I would have them put together proposals and then be able to give the finances to see them realized. It would be awesome.

What place in the U.S. would you most like to visit? Why?
I have never been to the Grand Canyon and think it would be beautiful.

What place outside of the U.S. would you most like to visit? Why?
On my next trip,  I would like to go to the Czech Republic as we have an exchange daughter that lived with us for a year that is there, and I would love to see her country.

Desk: messy or organized?
Messy from outside appearances but I know right where everything is.

Who would you want to play you in the movie about your life?
I like Sandra Bullock. When I was younger,  Sally Fields.

If you could give the world one piece of advice, what would it be?
Make a difference — you get to!

What would someone find in your refrigerator right now?
Spinach, homemade pizza, soy milk, flavored creamer, cheese, blueberries, apples.

If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?
Poppy seed or bleu cheese and French together (depending on the type of salad!)

Which super power would you like to have and why?
I can fly in my dreams at night and that is really fun, so far it hasn’t worked during the day without a plane (darn!)

What was your favorite childhood television program?
I loved this show called “Dark Shadows,” which featured a character called Barnabas Collins. He was the Edward Cullen (sort of) of the show.

List five goals on your life's to-do list.

  • Never should on myself.
  • Always remember that I get to…there is a story here if anyone wants to hear it.
  • Make a difference.
  • Swim with dolphins.
  • Continue to travel and don’t take life for granted.

Which is the best vacation you’ve ever had in your life?
I have had incredible vacations for different reasons, but one of my favorite places is called Holden Village in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. I got to live there for two years and it is fantastic.

Why do you like living in this area?
I love the Chippewa Valley because it is beautiful and there are great people here. There is always something going on that you can be involved with.

What do you think is the greatest invention of your lifetime? Why?
I think the computer, the Internet and the social networking that goes along with it. I can Skype with my friend in Brazil or in New York. I can connect with people from all stages of my life through Facebook, Twitter, etc. It is fun and I love it!
