I currently serve as the President of Gateway Technical College. Gateway is one of Wisconsin's sixteen technical colleges. We are located in southeast Wisconsin serving Racine, Kenosha and Walworth Counties. Gateway serves over 26,000 students annually in over 110 one and two year degree programs.

My interest in education was sparked while I was in high school. I had great high school teachers that encouraged me to pursue college. I started out as a high school teacher in Cornell and Kewaunee, WI. From the classroom, I moved to Madison and served for 16 years in the WI Department of Public Instruction. Being a teacher and a school administrator positioned me for Gateway.

I enjoyed all of my experiences while attending UW Stout. That is probably why I went back for three degrees. Something I really admire about Stout is the willingness of the faculty and staff to support students. I felt like everyone cared about my experience and wanted me to be successful at Stout.

College life has many challenges. Balancing time is always one that can make or break your success. Another challenge that was a positive was all the courses that interested me. I graduated with well over the required number of credits for my degree. I just liked taking meaningful classes.

I truly believe that my experience at Stout set a foundation of professional confidence that is with me today. I had the opportunity work with professionals in education and industry. Faculty challenged me to set high goals and to become involved in my profession. That is how I found my passion and Stout provided the pathways to pursue it.
