New Program Development
Links below direct you to appropriate sites in the Curriculum Handbook when developing a new program. It is recommended that you work closely with the Provost's Office as you begin new program development. Program development goals are documented on UW-Stout's Academic Plan, and all new initiatives are added by contacting the Provost's Office.
The three stages of program development defined by UW System's Guidelines for Academic Program Review and Regent Policy ACIS-1.0 are:
- Pre-Authorization: Notice of Intent
(requires both campus & UW System approval) - Authorization
(requires campus, UW System, and Board of Regents' approval) - Implementation
(The Provost informs UWS of implementation date after BOR approval)
Formats for Notice of Intent and Authorization are included in ACIS-1.0, Academic Program Planning, Policy, and Review.
For new majors and submajors,
