Consultant Procedures for PRC Committee

.Committee representatives (consultants) are selected for each program from the membership of the PRC. These consultants will meet the program directors to become acquainted with the programs and to guide development of the self-study.

.Program directors will be asked to respond to a uniform set of questions developed by the committee (Template for Program Director Self-Study). Additional questions relating to the audit criteria will be directed to the program directors via the consultants.

.The PRC Recording Secretary gathers information (through Qualtrics surveys) from principal instructors, program committee members, current students, and graduates, and summarizes the results. These results are given to the program director, dean, associate dean and department chair and the PRC committee as soon as the results are prepared.

.A block of time will be reserved for each program director to discuss their report and describe their program to the PRC. The PRC will discuss the program and the consultant will draft a report (Template for Consultant Report) on the program in a prescribed format. This report is shared with the dean and program director.

.The dean prepares a response to the consultant's report (Template for Dean's Response) and submits to PRC.

.The PRC reviews findings, approves a recommendation report, and sends recommendation report to the Faculty Senate for acceptance. This report is shared with the provost, dean, program director department chair(s), and Graduate Council for appropriate programs.

.Periodically, programs are asked to submit a Status Report (Template for a Program Director Status Report).  Each status report will be unique due to the issues of concern found in the consultant's report.
