Organizational Changes

Student Services Reorganization:
Vice Chancellor Phil Lyons is pleased to announce that the restructuring of the Dean of Students office has been completed. The Dean of Students office, its central administrative functions, new student orientation, and the Counseling Center will now report under the Division of Administrative and Student Life Services. This will allow for a tighter coupling with Student Life Services and University Housing. Natural efficiencies between first year experience programs, student conduct and health and counseling will begin to be realized through these administrative changes.

The restructure was part of a larger realignment of student services that helped to address the biennial budget cut. The changes helped to contribute approximately $145,000 to the overall reduction. More information on the student service area reorganization is available here.

Administrative and Student Life Services Realignment:
Phil Lyons, vice chancellor for Administrative and Student Life Services, recently announced to employees in his division a number of realignments that will affect Recreation, Athletics; Health and Safety; and other operations.  The memo is available here.
