Celebrating 365!

Safety Reception
Safety Committee Chairs Adam Ludwig and Kirk Miller address members of the Safety Incentive teams

This week, members of UW-Stout’s Safety Incentive teams attended a reception honoring their outstanding achievement:  Going 365 days without a lost-time accident.

At the reception, Chancellor Bob Meyer expressed his appreciation for the great job the team members do ensuring their own safety, as well as the safety of their coworkers, the students, and others. “It’s also wonderful to hear that the result is no lost work time and savings of over $100,000,” he added. “I know others will want to pilot similar programs at their institutions.”

UW-System Risk Manager Tom Joestgen agreed, saying, “This will be a model for every campus we have in the system.”

“This award program makes safety visible—keeps it visible. You’ve gotten great results and great recognition back in Madison,” Joestgen added.

UW-Stout Vice Chancellor Phil Lyons also praised the teams’ hard work and success. “This has been a wonderful program,” he said. “It’s important to celebrate success, especially when it’s so well deserved.”

Stout Student-Athletes earn All-Academic Award and Scholastic Honor Roll

For the fourth consecutive year, Stout student-athletes earned the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Academic Award by compiling a grade point average (GPA) equal to, or greater than, the GPA of the overall student body. In the process, 245 UW-Stout student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA or better and were named to the Scholastic Honor Roll. Individuals named to the Scholastic Honor Roll received a certificate, while UW-Stout collected a plaque for the All-Academic Award.
