University of Wisconsin - Stout

Would you like to help your students do a better job with research? Find authoritative information sources? Feel more comfortable searching web indexes and databases? Then library instruction is for you!

Research Skills

When you require your students to write a research paper or complete a project that requires information resources, you can help those students get a head start. Call a librarian to schedule a class session on research skills.

Resources

Many students are not aware of the resources available for specific disciplines. A typical class instruction session (in the library or in your classroom) will highlight specialized reference tools, the World Wide Web, online indexes and abstracts, and the Stout Library Catalog, as well as review basic principles of search strategy. Hands-on work with electronic resources is included, but any session will be specifically tailored to your needs.
