"Nuclear Playground"

This artwork addresses the theme of art and technology by combining photographic processes and painting. Through the initial application of photographic emulsion on canvas and exposing it to a negative, I create images that evolve through painting. The photographic images become part of the canvas, creating a sense of space that could not be otherwise achieved. The necessary experimentation that comes with this approach has generated various phases of development in seeking a resolved statement. In the last few months, my ideas have evolved in a series of landscapes; some of which use actual photographs to portray the effects of modern technology on the environment.
